Recal launches the calibrate digitizer program after a soft reset or a HotSync operation.

Update Description:
v2.8 (2006-09-01):
- Fixed a bug where Recal would crash on OS3.0/OS3.1 devices when auto-recalibrating.
- This will, however, re-introduce the display light-up removed in v2.5 ... hmmm - you can't win 'em all!

v2.7 (2006-08-28):
- Removed the dependency on OS3.5.
- Recal now runs on Palm OS 3.0 and better.

v2.6 (2006-07-17):
- Fixed a bug where, if you went through 5 digitizing attempt, Recal may restore invalid digitizer settings. If any previous setting had been made they're used instead.
- Hard keys now exits the Digitizer screen.
- Timeout on digitizer screen - if no taps are detected within a configurable amount the Digitizer screen will exit.
- 5 Way support.
- The precision can now be configured.

v2.5 (2006-01-15):
- Enlarged the Recalibrate button.
- Changed versioning from v2rX to v2.X
. - Added better icons.
- Added support for Hi-Density screens.
- AutoDigi is now a procedure alarm - the display on certain models shouldn't light up when auto calibrating the display!

v2r4 (2005-09-14):
- When using AutoDigi, do not turn on display on earlier devices when doing calibration.

v2r2 (2005-08-12):
- Added a "handbrake" so that the digitizer screen won't loop forever - after 5 attempts it will abort.

v2r1 (2005-07-03):
- AutoDigi, notifications prefs, own digitizer etc. etc.
- This is Recal-1r4 reworked!

My Palm finally did it! Like the rest of the reviewers, the recalibrate became out of the reach of the screen. Fine after a hard reset, but bad after old data resynced. This app works perfectly. Thanks Brian Schau. P.S. Not sure of the meaning of "Attempts left: 5".

After two years of being lost my Palm Vx re-surfaced. Data still intact but digitiser useless. Couldn't install original desktop on my (new) XP machine (needed 3MB Virtual Memory Ha Ha.) so I downloaded Desktop 4.1.4 and then your app. After a long, long re-sync up came the calibration screen. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! Thank you.

Sweet! My Palm Vx was in bad shape... the digitizer was out of wack and the reset button dont work. Couldnt click around on the screen in the right places to get to the Prefrences, and it would'nt restart!!! This program rocks.

Palm referrede me to this program as a last resort. like others, the digitiser had gone berserk & couldn't be reset from Prefs or Welcome. About to bin the Vx when I tried Recal. Now it all works perfectly again. This is a 'must have' for any Palm user!

I wanted chime in that indeed this program is terrific! When restoring the system from backup I got the standard reset order but the digitizer was so messed up that I had to do a hard reset to force recallibration - putting me back to square one. Palm's solution was to replace/repair my palm and recal saved the day.

This program saved my life!! No, really I installed a program that made my palmvx to reset. The problem was that once the reset finished i could not use my palm because the digitizer was way off. thanks to this program i was able to recover my palm. thank you very much.

Perfect! Thank god! This was exactly what I needed. Palm support couldn't help and they wanted me to pay $25 for telephone support. After I "HotSync"d, my palm would reset and then my stylus would totally be off... it was so off that I couldn't tap on the preference menu to calibrate the pen. I'd have to do a hard reset and erase everything to get the pen to work properly but then whats the point if I can't sync any information or add new appz to my palm. Whoever developed this was a savior? I just installed it once and everytime I sync now, it doesn't ask to reset. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Waverace is right. But if you can't select the Welcome program as your digitizer has gone a-fuckup the only way to call up the welcome program is by doing a hardreset, thus erasing all programs & data. Not my cup of tea.
