Description:
Adobe® Reader® for Palm OS® software lets you view Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files on handheld devices running Palm OS.
Now take your eBooks, documents, and Adobe Photoshop® Album slide shows from your desktop with you on your Palm OS device.
Adobe Reader for Palm OS conveniently reflows Adobe PDF text to fit and be easily read on small screens, while preserving graphics and images.
Adobe Reader for Palm OS includes two components that work together:
The desktop application (and conduit during HotSync®) runs on your desktop computer. It prepares PDF files for the Palm OS and transports them to the user's handheld device.
The reader is the Palm OS application that runs on the Palm OS device, designed to accommodate the characteristics of small-screen devices.
Note: Adobe Reader for Palm OS, version 3.0 is recommended to be used in conjunction with Adobe Reader 6.0, Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional, or Acrobat 6.0 Standard to experience the full product functionality.

Get PalmPDF instead. This program by Adobe is a joke compared to the one put out by MetaViewSoft. http://www.metaviewsoft.de/en/Software/PalmOS/Freeware/PalmPDF/index.html. PalmPDF is sensational!

Why is this listed as updated? The program is at version 3.05, and has been for years. It is large, slow, low-res, and requires that PDFs be converted in the desktop and placed on the Palm device. Google for PalmPDF from Metaview Software for a free, open source program that reads "native" PDF files on a card, and is far superior to Adobe's offering.

Do not use for Treo 600 or 650's. It creates yet another file type that you must send (sync) from you desktop via a utility. We get our mail wirelessly, and need to be able to read the normal (non-converted) file. This will not read normal PDFs that have not been converted!

Terrible! The "get best settings" feature on the preferences screen correctly recognises my handheld as a 480x320 device, but will only display 320x320 while still formatting for 480. Thus it cuts off the last 1/3 of each line, making my documents unreadable! Come on Adobe, it's 2005!

I am using it to read docuemnts on my Plam whcih have NO imgaes and 100 to 500k of text. I also find it very slow, when I use the search feature it is time to go make some tea. They got the rest of it right but the speed issue makes is a major issue for me. I will not botehr to use it unless they make it faster.

I use the new Palm Zire 71 w/ OS 5 and this program was very slow. It takes a good 30 to 60 seconds to pull up an image. Then if you want to zoom in it takes another 30 to 60 seconds. And you can't control the zoom ratio. The images are scale of the full monitor. So you have to oversize things on you computer screen in order to be able to read it on your palm. Finally, the next morning after I installed the program w/ 5 megs of memory still available, My battery was completely dead and my hard drive was completely wiped. I had to recharge and reset my computer from my PC backup.
