Simply small, fast and ergonomic File Manager, 3XCommander combines simplicity and easiness of the Palm OS® interface with good ideas of some Windows® programs.
The information can be presented in one or two panels, which split the screen horizontally or vertically.
"3XCommander" distinguishes two kinds of user actions: "Tap" and "Tap & Hold". Try to use them with various elements of the user interface.
Using these two simple actions you can get instant access to all program functionality.
- Supports standard (160x160), Hi-Res (Sony & OS5) and Hi-Res+ (Portrait & Landscape) displays
- Supports three display modes (FullScreen, Split Horizontal, Split Vertical)
- Simple and habitual tabbed interface (up to 6 tabs in each panel)
- Up to 8 fonts to display information
- All common operations with files and folders
- "On the fly" memory card replacement
- Friendly and ergonomic user interface
- Added "Don't use PopUp Menu" option
- Bugfix: Selection problem on B/W devices

I've had version 1.02 (same as listed above), (c) 2003-4, for several years, so obviously the program has not been updated. Too bad!

Simplicity. Customization. So easy to use for even a beginner. You can put so much info on one screen, like listing all the internal files then all the external card files right next to it, in a giant list, sorted many different ways. The great part is all the options you want can happen with the list still in view since all the windows pop up over the file list, and all your options fit onto one screen so its extremely easy to navigate without getting to confused. Very 'windows' like (without the bs) is what I mean.

Looks good especially in landscape on my T3. I just wish it supported Bluetooth.

This is one of 3 excellent freeware file managers I use, the others being FileProg and FileZ. Where 3X Commander really shines is in being able to delete multiple files simultaneously, not just consecutively like FileProg or singly like FileZ. Also it's ability to have both RAM and card files showing at the same time, being able to have multiple tabs (amazing in landscape mode), quick font changing, invert selection (of files), select group, group info, different layouts, and its unique (and clever) method of moving files around feature, and much more. And to me this is definitely the most user friendly (and fun) of the 3 file managers. Like the others I hope it gets updated to include more features.

This program is excellent! I installed this program and found that I had some files on my palm T|X that I forgot I had and wasn't using. 3xcom allowed me to delete those files despite the fact that they weren't visible anywhere in the device's utilities. I also bought a 256MB SD card, opened 3xcom, selected all files on the device and copied them to the SD card. I don't know how I got by without this much needed program. Awesome work!

Nicely laid out; needs a "file find" & "filter" tool.
