Description:
This is a Palm PDA application which walks a physician, student, or resident through the management considerations for nearly all patients with pneumonia.
This expands upon my previous Community Acquired Pneumonia program by adding management algorithms for Hosp Acquired Pneumonia and HealthCare Associated Pneumonia cases. Like the CAP program, this also draws upon the American Thoracic Society (ATS) guidelines, incorporating the 2005 HAP/VAP/HCAP one with the 2007 CAP guideline.
The ATS '05 guideline is challenging to decipher, so I would appreciate any feedback on my interpretation and algorithm-ization of the guideline for medical accuracy as well as ease and clarity of use. - Improved functionality for adding up checkboxes in the CURB-65 score (I learned a new programming trick, but I'm still an utter novice), I also improved the wording of a couple items, but no significant clinical modifications
