Description:
DiddleBug is an application for the Palm family of handheld computers, it is similar to a yellow-sticky note in that it allows you to scribble information onto your Palm device using digital ink.
You can set alarms for each note from a pop-up list, and DiddleBug will not let you forget your reminder. In addition, DiddleBug has IntelliBooger extensions that allow you to transfer information from within DiddleBug to other applications, such as the built-in ToDo and DateBook apps.

- A variety of pen widths and shapes, including ones for Caligraphy!
- Sketching of lines, circles, rectangles, ovals, and other shapes.
- Nine different fill patterns (from white to black) that can be applied to freehand sketching, as well as lines and shapes.
- Insertion of text (4 different fonts) into sketches.
- Titlebar can be hidden for more sketching area.
- A hardware button can be assigned to quickly create new sketches. Optionally, it can be assigned to launch another application, which allows you to \"share\" a hardware button between DiddleBug and another app.
- Alarms can be viewed and set either as an absolute time (Tomorrow, 8:15pm), or as a running countdown.
- Can have multiple alarms at once (one per sketch), which will persist even across a soft reset.
- Alarms can be snoozed after display to allow you to postpone dealing with it.
- Sketch reminders can be locked to prevent accidental deletion or overwrite.
- IntelliBooger extensions allow you to create entries for the built-in apps directly from within DiddleBug.
- Beaming.
- Linking to DiddleBug sketches using Linker.

Reporting 2 alarm issues of v2.90.7 with my Centro:
- Cannot turn off the LED after the alarm goes off
- Cannot choose internal Centro MIDIs as alarm signal as we did in v2.90.d.5

Diddlebug has been described as the Zen of Palm, and I have to agree. It is the best data entry tool I have used for making reminders, appointments, and getting other things done.

Diddlebug is absolutely wonderful! A must have that is much more valuable than Notepad from Palmsource. My question is ... will we see HVGA support for T3, T5 anytime soon? I know this would require db changes, but oh what a new height this would take it to.

Just loaded this on my Treo 600...I like it better than graffiti: quicker, easier to use. Great job, thank you!

v.2.60B3 continues the evolution of this stellar application by adding PalmOS5 Hi-Res support. My only quibble is that this version does not include support for the Tungsten's Vibrate/LED alarm features.

Thousands of ways to use it and it has not failed me yet. Thank you Mr. Diddle Bug. You rock!!!

I LOVE IT!!! Just bought Sony Clie' T615C and was bummed to find out the Diddle Bug I beamed from my previous Palm V didn't show the sketch's on my Clie'. Located this upgrade today and immediately installed it. I do prefer the previous "absolute" alarm setting screen and the new Cust. Signal (Wind) doesn't seem to work. But those are minor, and I am so happy to have Diddle Bug again!!!

Great program. I use it for quick memos and appointments. I would like to see an extended screen like on the Palm m100. Also, I prefer the the alarm and countdown setup in the previous version. Don't like military time at all. Besides that last drawback, DiddleBug is an excellent program.

Regarding the alarm not working when the program is put on an expansion card> that's a limitation of PalmOS. There's nothing I can do about it. Smear mode> it was hurting usability. Unless more than one or to people complain, Smear mode will stay out.

The alarm doesn't work when the program is placed on memory card?

"No one really uses" smear mode? Well I do! Was it hurting anything to have it in the program? If not, please put it back.

"I'd like to know what "alarms do not display properly when the titlebar is hidden" means, as I haven't been able to find any bug there. Maybe it just triggers on some devices? Please contact me on pputzer@users.sourceforge.net".

Well, it is not yet as useable as the notepad app that comes with the m100 but is feature rich and very promising. I say promising because there still seem to be some major design flaws that allow it to hang the system. Also, alarms do not display properly when the title is in hidden mode. I would suggest that until this gets past its beta stages that anyone that needs to write notes on their palm with reliability, use something else!

Some clarifications:
1. DiddleBug works on the Sony Clie, as long as "HiRes Assist" ist disabled for it.
2. There will definitely be no version for OS < 3.5 (for technical reasons), sorry.

What can I say...freeware is almost always good. diddlebug has been an intriguing download, and I've tried all the doodling ones out there. From my perspective, the only two things I would like to see would be an extended screen to write on, like the original Palm app has.

Great application! Just one thing is going wrong on my Palm Vx. When in "Alarm Set" I try to touch "Absolute..." I always get the same Fatal Alert: MemoryMgr.c, Line 4450 Invalid chunk ptr. What does mean? Could anybody explain? Thanks and sorry for a stupid question if it is stupid.

Would there be a version for the lower OS version 3.1 or 3.3? Would there be a categories update like the Notepad in m100?
* [Aug 8, 2001] by Uwe von der Wege
It's inacceptable that the program isn't usable with OS 3.3 like the previous version. I think that *must* be possible for thousands of OS 3.3 users!!! Uwe

It's about time! Mitch said he was going to do this, but never did. I'm glad someone with the knowhow (Peter) took it upon himself to get this moving again. I'm also glad to find it here first; I'm getting weary of PalmGear's website problems. Looking forward to real color support!
***** [Jul 17, 2001] by Jim West
This is the upgrade I've been looking for! Ever since I upgraded to a color Palm I wanted Diddlebug, but it would not work and who wants the monster footprint of Bugme! Thanks Mitch for a job well done. No problems (yet). Just one last thing, I was watching Palmgear for an update but found it here. I thought I would have found it there first. No problems mate. Download it!

This has been my favorite and most used application since I got my Palm. I am pleased that the author continues to update it. This program remains on my "MUST HAVE" list.
